You already know the famous racing plane Dusty Crophopper from the original movie. Now, after another racing season, he's back in his hometown Prophouse Junction. During a training run, he seriously injures himself and must accept that he can never fly in a race again. That's why he wants to join the firefighting aircraft of Piston Peak National Park and train with them. In spite of his handicap, Dusty throws himself at the new job with all his devotion, risking a lot in the process.
